Aug. 16-22 ~ Stage Combat Classes:
In anticipation auditions for Living Dead in Denmark by Qui Nguyen, Riot Act Inc. is thrilled to announce Stage Combat Classes. Taught by professional fight director Marius P Hanford IV, the class will include combat training with and without weapons. Tuition is $10 per person per class. Classes run Sat. Aug. 16 through Fri. Aug. 22 at 1pm daily and Tues. Aug. 19 and Wed. Aug. 20 at 7:00pm at Dancers’ Workshop Studios. Register on Riot Act’s website https://riotactinc.org/classes/ or just drop-in to class.
Aug. 23 ~ Farmers Market:
Riot Act, Inc. is proud to be the non-profit of the week for the Jackson Farmers Market. The Market runs from 8am to noon Saturdays on the Town Square. We will be manning the non-profit booth by Moo’s Ice Cream the morning of the 23rd. Stop by for free coffee courtesy of Elevated Grounds, stage combat demos, special FX stage make-up, and tons of information about Riot Act, Inc. 10% of the week’s market receipts will be donated to Riot Act, Inc. Aug. 26 & 27 ~ Auditions:
Auditions for our Living Dead in Denmark by Qui Nguyen will be held Tues. Aug. 26 & Wed. Aug. 27 from 7:30-9pm at Dancers’ Workshop in the Center for the Arts.
Ever wonder what happened after our beloved story of Hamlet ends? Qui asks just this question and brings our favorite Shakespearian characters (including Ophelia, Lady Macbeth, Juliet, Horatio, Hamlet, and more) back to life to battle a zombie army in a post-apocalyptic present day. Macey Mott and Marius P Hanford IV will co-direct this raucously fun piece full of zombies, glorious flights, betrayal, and more. Aug. 29 ~ POP! on Deloney St.
Riot Act, Inc. is excited to be part of JH Public Art’s inaugural POP! on Deloney. POP! stands for Place of Possibility. Fri. Aug. 29 from 10am to 10pm POP! will take over a block of Deloney St. next to the Town Square. All types of activities and art will happen. Riot Act, Inc. will provide Stage Combat demonstrations starting around 7:30pm that evening. We hope to see you there!
Sept. 6 ~ Old Bill’s Fun Run:
